I just got approved by Google to use their "Ad Sense" feature, which means I "allow" ads to be placed on my website and blog. If people click on them and ultimately purchase something I get a cut. It's a biggie, too; about 4 cents. :> (that cruise to the Mediterranian is getting closer! I figure it'll take about 760,000 purchases in order for me to buy the suitcase that I'll be taking to the Mediterranian. . . but hey, Rome wasn't built in a day dontchaknow.) Anyway I can decide the size of the ads and I can block certain kinds of ads, but other than that I don't have much control over the ads that are placed. So even though this is a cooking site you might see ads for Barbie Dolls, Fords, or Macy's sales. HOWEVER. . . Once I get "established" (in Google's eyes) as a reputable and worthy Ad Sense person, then ads that are more relevant to my site content will be channeled my way. That's my goal in life right at this moment. Better ads on my website. (I've come a long way...) So that's the deal. If you see ads in the cooking gadget section for acrylic nails- I CAN'T HELP IT. Just click on the ad and buy something. . . you'd look terrific in acrylic nails! Have you seen the new zebra striped ones? Mahhvelous. (and I'll send you a card from the Mediterranian) :> |
